A new version of #TidalFace for compatible #Garmin watches has just been published: v 4.1.0 ! It focuses on improving the accuracy of tide data retrieved from the worldtides.info web service. I made a change to limit retrieval of data from tide stations within a 5km radius from your location.... Before the change, the limit had been 100km! Just imagine the inaccuracies in the tide data if it was retrieved from a station at that distance! Keep in mind, not everyone is affected by inaccuracies that may stem from the previous 100km limit.
It would only have affected users in locations where there are no tide stations within a reasonable distance, say about 10km. If you previously used #TidalFace, but found the data to be grossly inaccurate, I apologize for the inconvenience, but would Iike to kindly invite you to download and try it again to see if it has improved since you last tried it. An extra setting has been added to TidalFace to allow you to override the 5km radius. Only use this if the tides, that had been accurate before the change, are now inaccurate. You then have to set it to something bigger than 5km to ensure that a a tide station is included in your radius.
