Why Do You Run? Let’s hear the story of Garmin Squad lead project manager, Mr. Dickson Cheah and how far he has come. “I used to be ok in size. Until some point during my college days, I was overweight and I barely worked out. All i did was eating and to 'lepak mamak' almost every night and I did not really care about my lifestyle.... I was about to donate blood one time and I had to weigh myself. The reading showed 96kg. I was shocked - Never had I ever thought I am reaching the 3-digit mark in weight. From there, I made a decision to go on a diet, but it still wasn't enough. I was still chubby. After graduating, I started working at Garmin Malaysia, and the best thing in my life happened - I started running. Running wasn't my thing, a 5km run was suffering for me back then. However, my inner voice challenged me to take up this sports. I want to look good in clothes and I want to prove myself that I can achieve anything I want. I started from 6KM and 10KM, all the way up to HM, 30KM, and finally a FM in 3 years time.” Now, his lifestyle is much better and exercising is an irreplaceable part for him.
